INTRODUCTION

In a quick, one-week project, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center came to us wanting to know more about the types of research we do in Design, and how they could start practising some of the methods that they've seen us use. We were asked to explore the research method of journaling, and create a document that allowed our client to understand the method and learn to use it on their own for their research.

My team wanted to do more than simply creating a journaling manual for UPMC. After deciding as a team on what we believed was the most effective way to create a journaling study, we developed a kit that would help anyone wanting to create a journal to gather information.

As this was only a one week project, very little was done in terms of user research, or even validating our concepts. But within this week we really tried to think of what our client needs were, and how to design a package that would cater to these needs. See our final presentation (link on right) for the results!
